Long before the gears of the Great Clock ticked in time with Charm City’s heartbeat, there was a man—brilliant, bold, and born of modest means. He called himself Lord Baltimore, not out of vanity, but as a promise: that greatness could be forged not from gold, but from grit, genius, and a touch of copper filament.

With the mind of a mechanist and the soul of a poet, Lord Baltimore invented wonders that could bend light, bottle laughter, and even whisper across time. But his greatest creation was yet to come: a grand seancuary of brick and brass, velvet and vision—a haven for artists, eccentrics, inventors, and dreamers.

He called it the Lord Baltimore Hotel.

This towering marvel stood as a beacon in the fog—a place where aether and elegance mingled, where time travelers rested their boots and clockwork symphonists tuned their gears. He adored his beloved Baltimore, with its cobbled curiosities and irrepressible charm, and wished only to share his creation with the world.

But alas! Whenever he invited society’s elite to his Heralded Historic House of Hospitality, they turned away—led astray by rumors and rot, whispers of ghostly nonsense and unrefined hearsay spread by those who feared what they could not understand.

So, Lord Baltimore adjusted his goggles, gave his top hat a defiant tilt, and declared:

• “If none shall host the Soirée worthy of this city, then I shall throw the greatest confabulation this side of the æther myself!”

And thus, he did.

Now, every year, the spirit (and perhaps even the specter) of Lord Baltimore returns to welcome all who believe in invention, imagination, and a dash of delightful madness. His Soirée is a celebration of the strange, the sublime, and the steam-powered. A festival for those who refuse to live by ordinary time.
